NRA Classes
The adult leaders of the Crew are NRA Certified Instructors and Training Councilors, and offer the following NRA training courses to members of the Scouting community and general public:
- Home Firearm Safety
- Personal Protection in the Home
- Personal Protection Outside the Home
- Basic Pistol (as well as First Steps)
- Basic Rifle (as well as First Steps)
- Basic Shotgun (as well as First Steps)
- Range Safety Officer
We also provide Rifle and Shotgun Merit Badge counseling to Troops in the National Capital Area Council.
Currently classes are arranged by appointment. If you are interested in taking a course, or would like information on arranging for Merit Badge instruction, please contact us (use the form on the About Us page).
As NRA Training Councilors, we also provide NRA Instructor courses in the above disciplines. Currently instructor courses are arranged by appointment only. If you are interested in taking a course, please contact us (use the form on the About Us page).
Fundamental Firearm Safety Rules
- Always keep the firearm pointed in a safe direction.
- Always keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.
- Always keep the firearm unloaded until ready to use.
